Cruiser Fishing – Alternative to Panga Fishing

With the addition of the Viviana, a 38 foot Hatteras, we now provide a new alternative to our popular panga packages. While we’d be happy to take you fishing for a day on the Viviana it really is more cost effective to fish our pangas. When you have groups of 4-6 people who want to fish together the Viviana starts to make more sense. If you have less than hardcore fisherfolk who would like to go fishing but really need air conditioning, or a bathroom, or even a blender then you’re starting to enter Viviana’s Zone. As you stretch further in this direction the Viviana starts to really shine. Multiday trips from La Paz, where you sleep aboard the boat and don’t have to quit fishing to make it home for the night are where this option is unique. Fishing the 88 bank at dawn, the Bajo after dark, or heading to the islands north of La Paz to capitalize on some great yellowtail and cabrilla fishing in virtually private waters, the flexibility of multiday trips starts to get exciting. Not only can you access waters beyond one day range, you can fish your favorite panga fishing spots before the pangas get there and after they leave. The Viviana sleeps 4 passengers comfortably, with a Captain and a deckhand. All meal snacks and drinks are included, and on many of our island hopping trips we tow a panga to give you even more options.

MAGDELLENA BAY

If the idea of ranging beyond the waters normally accessed from La Paz appeals to you, then maybe you want to wander even further and join us for some fantastic winter fishing at Mag Bay. This world class fishery is located on the west side of the Baja peninsula, three hours north by car from La Paz. We move the Viviana there the first week of October (another exciting trip that you might enjoy) where she remains until January. With trips leaving every Monday, we drive you to Puerto San Carlos and then embark from there. Fishing Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, half the day Friday, and then returning to La Paz to relax for an evening before coming home on Saturday gives you plenty of time to enjoy this unique area. Legendary places like The Ridge, Thetis Bank, Boca, Tosca Pinnacle, and Hurricane Bank are all within reach of the Viviana and offer fishing for wahoo, marlin, tuna, dorado, grouper and yellowtail.
